Why did the US Soccer team have their team logo taped over during today's match against Nigeria?
I noticed that all the players had white athletic tape over the US logo on their jerseys. Was it a sponsorship issue or a superstition?

national crests are not allowed, only the olympic logo is suppose to be used
all others that used their national crest are subject to fines
U.S. probably removed all patches as a good faith gesture to abide by the IOC, NOT Chinese, ruling
