Is polished white gold or silver more reflective?

this might seem like a wierd question considering that silver is used to make mirrors ( fact )... but can gold be polished enough to make that same effect just a good as silver in mirrors ?....... how about Argentium Silver, it definately is the way to go ( and what i REALLY want ) as far as concerning silver but it just isnt widely available even here in the one of the biggest city of the states, Houston
please aslo tell me if you know where to find argentium silver

Silver is far more reflective than gold. It is one of the reasons that so may fashion experts suggest older women wear silver earrings to bring more light up near their faces.

White gold is actually more of a grey color. That shiney whiteness you see in the jeweler's window is the rhodium plating (flashing) applied over the white gold. The rhodium plating is transitory--the gold must be periodically replated/reflashed with the rhodium in order to maintain that beautiful shine and reflectiveness. Polishing a piece that has been plated/flashed with rhodium will remove at least part of the rhodium surface, revealing the grey underneath.

Argentium silver is available from Rio Grande--see the link below. Because of the metals alloyed with silver to make argentium silver, it has different working qualities than traditional Sterling Silver alloyed with copper. Rio has some technical papers available on Argentium to bring you up to speed on the current knowledge base covering working with the metal.

Good Luck.
