Why not put double framed windows instead of double glazing?
When I enquired the price of double glazed window, they quoted around 20$ per square foot coverage. If I put two window frames parallelly, with the window grill in between, it will cost me only 10$. Isnt this more effective sound barrier and thermal barrier?
sealed units create a 'dead air space' and that is your insulation for heat and sound. if you can effectively seal the two units, they will work fine!
