Why do Republicans slam celebrities all the time?
and yet elect them into office when they are Republican? They do so at a rate much higher then Dems.
You know cons, they're just people. They put on their pants one leg at a time just like the rest of us.

Ronald Reagan (crappy actor/crappy president)

Clint Eastwood (actor/Carmel Mayor)
Jack Kemp (football player/former representative & VP candidate)
Charlton Heston (actor/NRA president)
Sonny Bono (singer/former senator)
JC Watts (football player/former representative)
Republicans do not slam celebrities. As you point out, there have been a few successful ones. Republicans slam libs who get their talking points from stupid celebrities, re: Alec Baldwin and Al Franken of Air America Infamy.
BTW, an NRA president is not a public office.
