Why do the Giants continue to pass on power hitters like Vlad Guerrero and Mark Texieria?
If they're going to dole out the money, why give it to Edgar Renteria? Why not pour into a hitter like Texieria who is young and hits 30-40 hrs a year?
I think the bary Zito deal really handcuffed them.
They could not get themselves in an auction for Tex against the Yanks.
They would never win.
As for Vlad, they would need to trade for him if they want him or wait for him to be a free agent.
Personally, i think aquiring Miguel Cabrera last year would have been their best bet.
Renteria aint a bad hitter. No more Omar, a great hitting shortstop. Thier lineup is full of youth and veterans a perfect mix. Lets see how they do this year.
